Simple in character, carefully finished
South African Dark Grey granite is polished throughout to bring out its rich, even tone. Design D features an open-book design across the face, creating two balanced areas for the inscription.
The outline of the book is normally finished in the same colour as the lettering, giving the design a coordinated appearance. Other colour combinations can be discussed when choosing the inscription.
The tablet can be laid flush with the ground in a churchyard or fixed on a foundation above ground in a cemetery, subject to local regulations. Churchyards normally require a honed rather than polished finish.
